Manchester City want Eden Hazard as Chelsea prepare to try and convince star man to stay

The Daily Express has today linked Manchester City with a move for Eden Hazard, although their claims are pretty shaky.

They have no concrete details, and instead merely claim that the Daily Star is the origin of the story.

Hazard has one year left on his contract, and this summer will likely either see him leave or sign a new deal. Real Madrid have long been linked as the top option for Hazard, but he is likely to be happy to go anywhere where he can compete in the latter stages in the Champions League.

Chelsea would probably prefer to not sell him to a Premier League rival, but if City offer a significantly better deal than anyone else it would be very difficult for the club to turn it down, just as was seen with the Manchester United move for Nemanja Matic last summer.

Hazard has called for more signings at Chelsea, who will have to try and convince the Belgian that staying at Stamford Bridge is the smart move.
