“I’m for sure ready for the next level” – 22 year old Chelsea loanee wants a big move this summer

When it comes to naming the most exciting prospects in Chelsea’s loan army, Matt Miazga isn’t often placed among them.

It’s hard to say why. Maybe it’s because he’s already 22, so fans think we’ve already seen the limits to how good he can be. Maybe it’s because he’s a centre back, not the most exciting of positions in the team.

But he’s been developing nicely over two seasons at Vitesse in Holland, and is now a mainstay in their impressive side as well as the US National team.

Like his loan teammate at Vitesse Mason Mount, it may be time for Miazga to move on. Speaking to Goal, the defender said that he feels like he’s getting better every year and now wants to step it up:

“I’m confident in my abilities. I’m for sure ready for the next level.”

While another year at Vitesse would guarantee him more football in a growing team, putting him in a better division would be a better test of just how good he’s getting.
