Here’s one main reason Chelsea decided not to hire Luis Enrique as Antonio Conte replacement

It had been expected widely that Luis Enrique would be the main candidate to replace Antonio Conte next summer after the Italian is sacked by Chelsea, but those rumors went cold sometime in March with Maurizio Sarri rather mentioned close to the Chelsea hot seat.

According to a report by Marca in Spain, it was because the Blues found out about Enrique’s ‘arrogance’.

The report says Chelsea had began negotiating well with the former Barcelona manager to step in the big shoes at Stamford Bridge, but a personality clash in the meetings killed the hopes of signing him.

Roman Abramovich’s trusted ally Maria Granovskaia did not follow through with the talks due to Enrique’s demands and as per the report by Marca, a source at the club said “There was no real feeling” between both parties “at any time”.

A similar situation also happened with his negotiations with Arsenal as Marca says the Gunners shut down talks due to his general mood and demands.

Although there were reports by the Sun that Sarri would leave Napoli for Chelsea, the Daily Mail has reported lately that a new deal is on the cards for the Italian to remain in Naples beyond next season.
