It would cost Chelsea more than the £9m to sack Antonio Conte with other pay offs revealed

Chelsea are not in a hurry to sack Antonio Conte as they have done with previous coaches who underwhelmed at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian manager has not been the most impressive of the top managers in the Premier League this season and has been tipped to leave Chelsea in the coming transfer window. Following a Premier League title triumph last season, Conte has led the Blues to fifth position in the league table and also crashed his side out of the Carabao Cup and Champions League.

With just the FA Cup to win this season, Conte has not convinced his bosses at Stamford Bridge with poor displays in a variety of competitions this season and the Roman Abramovich and his top officials are preparing to sack the Italian coach after the cup final next weekend.

But according to the Daily Mail, the huge pay off that stands between Conte and the exit door is even more than thought initially as per the Sun. The Mail report says Chelsea would have to pay a ‘total of nine’ backroom staff if Conte leaves the club next summer in addition to the £9 million to be paid to Conte if his contract is cut short with a year to go.

That would represent a significant amount Chelsea would have to spend to grab a new coach during the summer.

Some options to replace Conte according to the Independent are Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri and former Barcelona head coach Luiz Enrique.
