Chelsea’s 10 year Stamford Bridge points record ranked

The Daily Star have taken a day off from pumping out transfer nonsense and skewed political nonsense to do an interesting bit of maths.

The sports department there calculated the average points won at home per game by all of the current Premier League teams over the last ten years.

Chelsea come in third, with an impressive 2.24 points per game. They rank behind only both of the Manchester clubs.

That’s clearly good, but it’s also a little worse than we expected. Given the ridiculous home record Jose Mourinho had in both spells at Stamford Bridge, and considering the draw-fests Man United have had at home in the last few seasons, we expected to be ahead of the Red Devils at least.

This season has hurt the Blues, with plenty of points dropped at home, and of course the Mourinho/Hiddink season which saw us slump down the table and lose and draw numerous games as we all but gave up on the season.
