Chelsea will take a huge step in replacing Antonio Conte on Thursday with meeting scheduled with replacement

The news that Carlo Ancelotti has replaced Maurizio Sarri has opened up the rumor mill more than ever, with several reports emerging from Italy now that Chelsea are in pole position to sign Sarri.

Calciomercato now reports that Chelsea have scheduled a meeting with the former Napoli head coach to discuss the posibility of taking over Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.

It will not be news to Sarri, who had been contacted by the Blues top hierarchy already, being the only reason he decided to delay the process in signing a new deal at Napoli. According to Football Italia, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis claimed he had ran out of patience with Sarri, prompting his capture of Ancelotti.

“I closed a deal with Ancelotti and I won’t wait for Sarri anymore. I’ve already waited a long time.”

Sarri is now open for discussions with Chelsea and per the report by Calciomercato, and they claim a meeting is scheduled on Thursday with the Blues set to propose more than the €6 million offered by Zenit St Petersburg.

Hopefully an agreement is reached a quickly as practicable to settle the dust in the Chelsea dressing room and finally have a sense of direction at the club.
