Chelsea owner misses FA Cup win as visa issues go on

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is having trouble renewing his UK visa, according to reports in the BBC.

The Russian billionaire wasn’t at the FA Cup final on Saturday, and the BBC are claiming that his private jet hasn’t actually been in the country since the first of April.

Currently there isn’t too much to worry about – he has not been denied a visa, there has just been a delay in issuing it. But given the growing tensions between the UK and Russia and the claims from the government in Westminster that they are going to do more to rack down on Russian money in the country, if it goes on Blues fans might start to get a little worried.

For now there is no indication there will be a long term problem however, and we can expect to see the owner back in his box at Stamford Bridge next season if everything goes to plan.
