Chelsea must pick Dujon Sterling loan wisely

Dujon Sterling is ready for a loan.

The young full back has this season reached the top of the youth escalator, playing and dominating at that level, as well as regularly training with the first team, including his two first appearances for the senior team in the cups.

Now he’s outgrown youth football, and it’s time to see what he can do in the men’s game.

He will hopefully follow a path similar to Ola Aina, who was in the same position last summer.

Ola went to Hull, and while it was a tough season, he played almost every game, and adjusted well to senior football.

Sterling is even more of a talent, so could probably aim for a top Championship club rather than one set to struggle.

It’s always better to play more however, and aiming too high with a loan can be devastating – as we saw with Lewis Baker this season at Boro.
