Jorginho is on his way to Manchester City this summer, according to all manner of outlets like Football Italia, who are reporting that the deal is almost done.
It’s certainly a deal that makes sense. City have an almost perfect squad, but could use some strengthening in central midfield, where Fernandinho is coming to the end of his career.
Jorginho fits perfectly into Pep Guardiola’s style too, with his passing stats per game totally off the charts in the past 3 seasons.
But could Chelsea steal a march on their northern rivals? They would have only one chance of doing so: Maurizio Sarri.
The manager looks like the first choice for Chelsea now, and he may just be able to persuade the Italy international to join him.
Jorginho has flourished under the tactician in Naples, and if Chelsea stump up the cash, maybe their potential new boss will be able to convince him that they can reach the next level together in West London?
