Chelsea forward keeps up impressive recovery from injury

Michy Batshuayi has been named in Belgium’s initial squad list for the World Cup, as recorded here on the BBC Sport website.

It shows the amazing recovery is making from an ankle ligament injury he suffered back in April.

The forward had been in superb form for Borussia Dortmund on his loan there, and it was a real blow to him and to the German team when he was ruled out for the season.

Clearly Roberto Martinez is backing him to recover in time for the tournament in Russia which starts in a few weeks.

His rivals for the striker position have not had great seasons, with Liverpool’s Divock Origi missing out entirely and Christian Benteke included despite a torrid season for Crystal Palace.

Batshuayi has a great chance to play for the Red Devils if he can keep up his recovery. He might even feature against England in their game Kaliningrad.
