Chelsea cut short shocking loan after disastrous start

Chelsea have terminated Charly Musonda’s loan at Celtic, as Goal.com’s Chelsea correspondent Nizaar Kinsella has confirmed.

The loan began in January and was supposed to be for 18 months. The young Belgian was supposed to finally get the regular senior football he desperately needs, but it hasn’t worked out.

Instead, he has just three starts to his name in the half season there, and it’s pretty obvious why the club feel it’s not in his best interests to remain in Scotland kicking his heels on the bench.

When the 22 year old signed a new deal at the end of last year it was reported that he would have a strong say in where he went on loan, so it seems as though he has made these issues for himself.

Admittedly it seemed like a sensible choice to go and play under former Chelsea youth coach Brendan Rodgers, but for whatever reason it just hasn’t worked out.

The list of bad loans for Charly is stacking up now, and surely the blame will eventually lie at his feet.
