Chelsea and Arsenal ready to enter €40m battle for former Premier League star midfielder

Reports that circulated since last summer that Premier League clubs are lining up for former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Steven N’Zonzi will not go away after it emerged again recently that two top clubs in England are looking to sign him.

N’Zonzi has been a target for Chelsea for several months now with the Blues signing N’Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko instead, in the last two summer transfer windows.

The  midfielder has still been linked with Chelsea and now Arsenal are said to have entered the race. According to AS in Spain via Sport Witness, the La Liga star will return to the Premier League if Arsenal and Chelsea step up their interest in him in the coming transfer window.

However, AS says neither club wants to pay the demanded amount by Sevilla although the Spanish side are willing to let him leave due to disciplinary issues. As reported by the Sun, N’Zonzi was forced by Sevilla to apologize to the club when he partied in the aftermath of his side’s 5-0 loss to Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey final.

It appears the future of N’Zonzi is away from the Spanish side as he aims to move back to the Premier League after three years away.
