Why Cesc Fabregas didn’t celebrate the first of his 50 Premier League goals

Cesc Fabregas is more known for his assists than his goals. The midfielder’s 111 assists in the league are second only to Ryan Giggs, a pretty incredible record considering he had several years back playing in Spain.

But on top of helping his teammates score, he’s also netted 50 himself now.

The 50th came against Swansea, with the Spaniard curling a left footed shot beyond the helpless Fabianski.

To celebrate his landmark goal, the Premier League interviewed Cesc about his first 50. You can see the video here.

He shared an interesting story about why he didn’t celebrate his first in the English top flight.

Gilberto Silva got a flick on the ball at a corner, and Fabregas wasn’t sure he’d touched it as th ball went in. Everyone went to celebrate with his Brazilian teammate.

Later on he was informed that he had, and that he had scored his first Premier League goal without even realising.
