AC Milan targeting “unhappy” Alvaro Morata for transfer as Juventus interest cools

Shifting Alvaro Morata this summer has looked like an impossible task at times for Chelsea.

The fee they paid for him last summer was so large that it will be almost impossible to find someone to match it after a disappointing season. So unless the club are willing to take a humiliating hit on his cost, a permanent transfer has looked out of the question.

Sites like Football 365 this week carried quotes from senior members of the Juventus hierarchy saying that Morata would just be too expensive, even for the Turin giants.

But quotes today on CalcioMercato have another potential destination for the former Real Madrid man: AC Milan. They spent big money last summer but the strikers they splashed the cash on have largely disappointed.

The article claims that Morata is “unhappy” at Chelsea – hardly surprising to anyone who’s seen his demeanour this season.

Could a move to Lombardy suit everyone involved?
