“It is 50-50” – Chelsea’s FA Cup talisman denies Man U are favourites for final

Olivier Giroud knows a thing or two about winning FA Cups.

He’s got three of them already, and we wants a fourth later today.

The last of his three came a year ago, and he played an important role, crossing the ball for Aaron Ramsey to head home as Arsenal came back from a goal down.

The Gunners were outsiders for that game against Antonio Conte’s dominant title-winning team, just as Chelsea are outsiders for this one. But Giroud insist the game is more level than that, according to quotes carried in the Evening Standard:

“I don’t agree with the people that are saying that Manchester United are favourites. It is 50-50,” the France international insisted.

Cup finals are certainly a leveller, and Chelsea fans have the memory of last year’s final to cling on to as they look at upset the odds and give Antonio Conte a final trophy before he goes.

50-50 may be pushing it a bit, but with Giroud in the team, anything is possible – especially in an FA Cup final.
