“His past was not easy, he is from the street.” – David Luiz reveals the secret past of Chelsea shining star

Kenedy is not at Chelsea at the moment, and David Luiz has played so little in the last few months you’d be forgiven for forgetting he was at the club too. But they’re both still on the books at Stamford Bridge, and they both still have their base in London.

In the Daily Mail interview that came out the other day, it was revealed that the pair of them, along with fellow Brazilian Willian, are opening a restaurant in London together. Clearly all three are intending to spend plenty of time in the city, even if they leave the club.

While speaking about Kenedy, Luiz had a fatherly tone, and revealed some things about the youngster that some people might not know.

“You see his tattoos and the ripped jeans and you think he is a crazy boy, but he is shy. His past was not easy, he is from the street. But he is a great boy with a big heart,” the defender said.

Kenedy grew up in a poor family in a poor part of Brazil, and that is part of what has driven him to success in the game. While some in West London might consider Newcastle a rather glamorous destination, compared to the backgrounds of many footballers – Kenedy included – it’s a world of luxury.
