The reason Antonio Conte has not departed Chelsea yet this season

Chelsea are ready to swap managers in the summer after Antonio Conte lead a hugely unsuccessful title defense this season.

The Italian manager has led Chelsea to sixth this season in the Premier League and has been dodgy in his tactics in crucial games in the campaign. His inexplicable decisions to start Eden Hazard to lead his attack has prompted wild reactions from pundits and fans alike, in games Chelsea have failed to attain maximum results.

The Blues are now ready to move in for another manager in the summer to steer the club in another direction than Conte has mastered so far this season.

But what stands between the two parties is the outstanding pay-off the Italian would receive should be sacked. The former Juventus tactician will receive an amount of £10million per the report by the Mirror and is willing to play the game of ‘cat and mouse’ in order to get his pay-off instead of resigning.

Should Conte leave Chelsea one way or the other, he will not be likely to be short on options with PSG waiting on available managers to sign a replacement for their current head coach, Unai Emery.
