Mohamed Salah aims slight dig at Chelsea after winning PFA Player Of The Year

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah beat strong opposition to be named Professional Footballers Association Player Of The Year after his heroics this season in red and in his speech afterwards, aimed a dig at Chelsea.

The diminutive forward has become one of the world’s most feared attackers following his consistency in front of goal, scoring for fun, while helping Liverpool win crucial games in all competitions.

He was voted the best player in the Premier League this season, after beating off competition from title winning players like Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane and David Silva, as well as Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea and Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane.

The awards was voted for by his fellow players in the division to prove the respect he has earned among his peers.

After receiving the award, Salah says following his failure at Chelsea, he was desperate to comeback to England and prove his value.

“It’s an honour and especially as it’s voted by the players. I am happy and proud. I didn’t have my chance at Chelsea. It was clear I would return and show everyone my football. I think I left and came back a different person, man and player.”
