Marcos Alonso has been included in the PFA Team of the year.
The team was named today, and Alonso finds himself slotting in at left back for the second season in a row.

The Spaniard is the only Chelsea player to make the cut this year after a very disappointing season, and even his inclusion has raised some eyebrows. Even some Chelsea fans remain unconvinced by the former Sunderland and Bolton wide man.
Alonso has been one of the better players in Blue this season, but he’s unlikely to win even the club’s internal awards for best player. N’Golo Kante is favourite for that prize.
It’s nice for Chelsea fans to have something to smile about after a tough season, although this individual award isn’t much to cheer given some of the performances we’ve had to suffer through.
Hopefully next year will see a more potent Chelsea team with more players included in this elite lineup.
