The four reasons Chelsea won’t catch Tottenham for a Champions League spot

Chelsea fans had given up on the top four after their loss to Tottenham and then the killer draw against West Ham. But recent results have just sparked the fire that it might be possible to retain a Champions League place.

There is one major obstacle however. Even if Chelsea win their remaining fixtures, they will still need Spurs to drop points in two different games. And that looks very unlikely given the fixtures.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, their rivals conclude their season against the four worst possible teams: sides with nothing to play for.

Next up for Mauricio Pochettino’s men is Watford, who have been on the beach for months. Then West Brom, who will already be relegated by then. Then Newcastle, who are happily mid-table. And finally Leicester, another side who have had no inspiration for a good few months now.

And even Spurs can’t Spurs that up… can they?
