Chelsea’s pursuit of €75m defender will never stop, despite manager change

As transfer rumours go, this one is ancient, almost prehistoric.

This will be the forth summer where we see Kalidou Koulibaly linked to Chelsea, and the fact that Napoli have resisted an ever increasing series of bids over the years has apparently done nothing to dissuade Chelsea from making further attempts.

The Senegalese defender just scored the winner for Napoli in their vital Serie A win over Juventus at the weekend, which has his name back on the back pages. But if Chelsea want him, they’ll have to stump up €75m according to Sport Witness.

Confusingly, the Italian press reports they are citing constantly mention Antonio Conte’s influence on the transfer – don’t they know he won’t be here next season? It’s almost as though the whole thing is totally made up nonsense anyway…

Whether Chelsea’s interest in K2 will outlast their erstwhile manager, we will discover once the window opens.
