Chelsea have been linked with Richarlison of Watford, as the transfer rumours machines start to warm up again ahead of the summer window opening again.
The tricky attacker was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge last summer, but it didn’t materialise, and he ended up being persuaded to join Watford by Marco Silva.
Silva is now out at Watford, and if he joins Everton as expected, that would be a more logical move for the former Fluminense player, who shone in the first part of the season.
Chelsea should hold fire on this one. Richarlison hasn’t performed much since, and more than a few months evidence is needed before a major sum is spent on him.
His decline since could be down to the departure of the impressive Silva, and the motivation be brought, but it could also be a return to the mean. It’s worth holding on another year to find out.
