Chelsea emerge one of three favorites to sign Ligue 1 top defender next summer

Chelsea are one of three Premier League sides interested in chasing Paris Saint Germain left full back Layvin Kurzawa according to a report by the Daily Mirror.

The paper says Chelsea are still looking for options to replace Marcos Alonso in the Blues setup after a miserable season that sees them possiblly finishing fifth behind London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs are ironically one of the sides from the English top division linked with Kurzawa next summer.

The left full back has really improved this season, making a claim to be kept in the star studded squad in Paris, but the ambition of the Qatari owners means they will most likely ready to let him leave next summer and replace him with better talent.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs have been linked, with Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino all lacking good talent in the position and regularly using makeshift players in the position this season.

Chelsea’s chase of Kurzawa is bizarre though with Alonso playing very well this season, scoring six goals and two more assists in the Premier League.
