Why Arsenal’s manager search is already hurting Chelsea

The fact that Arsenal are now unexpectedly in the hunt for a manager this summer has been seen as a major issue for Chelsea, who will also be searching for a new man to head their on field operations.

They also have the advantage of having confirmed that Arsene Wenger will be leaving, meaning they can openly pursue and engage targets. Chelsea still have to keep up the charade that Antonio Conte will still be at the club next season.

Brendan Rodgers is favourite for the Arsenal job now, as well as being among the front runners for the role at Stamford Bridge. Leonardo Jardim has also been mentioned in the running for both jobs, as has Carlo Ancelotti.

The fact that Arsenal can move for their target sooner is a big advantage, and Chelsea will be hoping they opt for Patrick Viera or another outsider unlikely to be considered by Roman Abramovich.
