Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi could make a remarkable return from injury to make the World Cup next summer after tearing his ankle ligaments while on loan at Borussia Dortmund according to Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
The Belgium international has been in great form for Dortmund after completing the loan move form Chelsea in January. His chances were limited at Chelsea and was expected to leave in the winter transfer window, but following a scintillating form in the German Bundesliga, Batshuayi has been crocked with an injury to his ankle that rules him out of action for the rest of the season.
What is not known at the moment is if he can join up with Roberto Martinez’s squad to travel to Russia in the summer.
Asked whether the seven-goal striker can take a part in the summer World Cup, Blues boss Conte says he hopes the forward does recover in time, although hinting he is recovering ahead of time.

Conte on Batshuayi injury: "If there's an injury, especially a serious injury happens then they come back here to recover with our medical department. This happened with other players who went on loan. I have no idea [if he will be fit for World Cup], I hope he can recover" #CFC
