Thibaut Courtois has been a divisive figure among Chelsea fans since the day he arrived.
Firstly, his arrival meant forcing club legend Petr Cech out of the team, first to the bench and then the next summer, to Arsenal.
This was a hugely tough call for Jose Mourinho, but ultimately he made the right one, as Courtois has given good years to Chelsea while Cech has declined ever since.
But on a personal level, Courtois’ constant flirting with Atletico and later Real Madrid has made it very difficult for fans to come to like him.
His excellent performances were enough to make fans ignore that, but his double nutmeg mare against Barcelona in the Nou Camp seems to have changed that.
His contract expires next summer, and fans have been desperate for him to sign a new one. Now, the feeling is growing less intense. If we can get good money from Spain for him, and sign someone who actually wants to be here, why not do it?
