Real Madrid star’s Chelsea move a little closer after another Champions League snub

It was reported in Spanish transfer rumour mill Don Balon last week that Alvaro Morata was keen to get Isco in from Real Madrid next season.

It seemed pretty unlikely – and still does – but there are a few factors that mean it’s definitely still a possibility.

One of the conditions that Don Balon mentioned was Isco demanding to start against PSG in last night’s Champions League second round second leg. He didn’t. Marco Asensio got the nod and was sensational for Los Blancos.

After a superb season last time out Isco still should be a long way from leaving Madrid. But there’s only room for so many stars at the Bernabeu, and if one of them is looking to leave so they can shine a little brighter, Chelsea should be all over them.

The fact that it could help their record signing Morata settle at the club is a bonus.
