“Too many off days” – Man United legend dismisses Eden Hazard’s performance

Roy Keane, who the TV companies love to wheel out for a quote now and then, has laid into Eden Hazard after his poor showing on Wedesday night.

This time he was speaking on ITV, and he summarily dismissed the notion that Belgian Hazard would ever be in a bracket with Leo Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

The former Man United man certainly isn’t wrong to critique Hazard’s performance. He made the wrong decision all too often when in dangerous positions, and never really looked convinced of his own ability in the final third.

Compare that to Messi, who grabbed two goals and an assist on the night, and made the right call every time he was in the final third, and you have all you need to know about the current standings of the two.

Some will argue that Hazard’s surrounding cast are inferior, but when it came down to it, with the ball at his feet, he simply didn’t perform in the biggest game of the season.
