“His delivery, his crosses and set pieces, he is somebody who is different” – £15m target praised by new manager

Kenedy has had a bright start to his time in the North East, and the club and its fans would like his stay to continue.

Manager Rafa Benitez was asked about the Brazilian in the Daily Mirror, and he was full of praise for his January loan signing, noting his pace, his energy and his ability on the ball.

The on-loan wide man scored twice at the weekend as Newcastle beat Southampton.

Predictably Benitez was also asked whether he would like to keep Kenedy long term. He answered yes, but didn’t sound too hopeful that Mike Ashley was going to splash the cash.

That same article estimates a £15m fee for Kenedy, but that seems highly unlikely. Especially if he continues scoring, his fee will only rise. Given that players are regularly bought and sold for £15m in the Championship these days, we would be expecting a lot more than that.
