David Luiz returns from injury to fight for place in Chelsea and Brazil ahead of summer World Cup

Chelsea’s David Luiz is preparing to come back for Chelsea’s crucial clash against Tottenham Hotspur after the International break following a spell on the sidelines due to injury.

The Brazil international has been out of presence since February 5, as a result of a knee injury from a reckless Sergio Aguero tackle over a year now during the Blues victory at Manchester City, with the injury recurring for majority of this season.

Luiz has been constantly visiting Barcelona for treatment but the injury has been persistent. However, the midfielder is confident that he will be  present for selection in Chelsea’s game against Tottenham on April 1 according to the Sun via Metro.

The 30-year-old has made just four appearances since November, the last of them was the 4-1 loss in February at Watford but will like to work his socks off in a bid to make Brazil’s squad for the 2018 World Cup in the summer.
