Just when you thought Neymar couldn’t be involved in more football related news, the Brazilian has popped up in Chelsea’s new manager search…
From his eye-popping transfer from Barcelona to PSG in the summer, through his various arguments with teammates in the French capital this season, via a rumoured sensational move to Real Madrid this summer, and now culminating in his World Cup threatening injury, poor old Ney is never out of the headlines.
Now it seems his text messages are the headline, with Spanish rumour mill Don Balon saying that he’s had a text from Luis Enrique.
Neymar was apparently wondering whether the Asturian coach would be joining him in Paris, and Enrique replied that he wouldn’t, as things were “almost agreed” with Chelsea to move there to replace Antonio Conte.
Quite how that information then got from Neymar’s phone to the reliable pens of the writers at Don Balon isn’t quite clear, but there you go. Even if this is indeed nonsense, there’s no doubt the former Barca man is a favourite to take over at the Bridge after Conte.
