Chelsea are keen to add to their ranks some top quality players in order to challenge for honors next season, but many Blues fans will be concerned about this latest link.
According to the Mirror, Chelsea are set to return to Arsenal, shortly after raiding the club for Olivier Giroud, to sign Aaron Ramsey with the midfielder’s contract not yet extended by the club.
The Blues are looking to beef up their options in midfield following the slow start to life at Stamford Bridge by Tiemoue Bakayoko, and the consistent displays by Cesc Fabregas, and Ramsey may be the answer.
Blues chiefs will sit with their colleagues at the Emirates next summer to discuss the possibility of sealing the signing of Ramsey who has been one of Arsene Wenger’s most trusted allies in recent years.
The report by the Mirror says due to the contractual issues of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, that distracted their objectives this season, Arsenal will like to tie down Ramsey to a new deal before next season, when he would be living out his last few months at the club.
But Chelsea may pounce next summer to cool matters at the club.
