Chelsea favourite could return for massive Tottenham clash

Chelsea could welcome back David Luiz for the first time since February 5th next weekend against Tottenham, according to the Metro.

It’s a massive game for the Blues as they look to secure a top 4 place, and losing this will pretty much condemn them to a Champions League-less season once again.

The return of Luiz will be a boost to the atmosphere, and one can’t have too many options, but Andreas Christensen has established himself in Luiz’ place over the last few months and will be tough to dislodge.

Luiz’ knee injury has been a serious concern since he was flattened by Sergio Aguero in December 2016. The Brazilian spent the second half of last year wearing a protective cover on the joint almost every week, and it seems like the issue just won’t go away.

His ability to recover from the problem will go a long way to deciding whether the 30 year old stays at Chelsea or  is allowed to leave in the summer.
