Alvaro Morata has a long road back to redemption among Chelsea fans, but he took a huge step in the right direction at the weekend.
Not only did he show great grit and determination in the face of coordinated targeting from Leicester defenders looking to wind him up, he also scored a goal – his first since boxing day.
The relief was palpable, especially as it was a 1 on 1 which he scored from, a situation where he had been struggling even when he was in good form.
He will hopefully now be given a more consistent run in the team and a chance to earn back the trust of the fans and the manager before the summer.
It shows just how fickle football fans are that the rumours were flying around last week about him leaving the club after just one season.
Now hopefully everyone will be back on board to give him another shot.
