Chelsea are suddenly front runners in the race to sign Robert Lewandowski after reports say the Blues and Real Madrid are in pole position to sign the striker in the summer.
For financial reasons and clear need for the services of the striker, his agent has trimmed the list of suitors down to only two, despite the heavy interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and other top European clubs according to Bleacher Report.
The report by the Bleacher says Chelsea are one of two destinations likely for Lewandowski to land at. Real want him desperately to replace Karim Benzema but Bayern will most likely not be ready to sell to a direct European rival who have shown promise of winning European silverware in recent years.
For Chelsea, the mere fact they need a striker in the mold of the Poland international and readiness to meet the financial requirements makes it easier for them to land their target.
Although the Blues have signed a striker in each of the last transfer windows, they are still interested in bringing in a world class striker capable of scoring goals in top competitions and games.
