Belgium doctors reveal big injury news on Thibaut Courtois after missing Leicester clash

Thibaut Courtois has been told by Belgium club doctors to stay away from football for a week to enhance his rehabilitation from an injury he picked up last week, according to Belgian newspaper Le Soir, rehashed by WeAintGotNoHistory.

Courtois was absent in Chelsea’s match day squad for Leicester City in the FA Cup last Sunday, with many fearing Antonio Conte had ousted him from the squad due to his bad form.

He took blame after Chelsea conceded early and eventually were booted out of the Champions League in a 3-0 loss to Barcelona. The Belgium international has endured a torrid two weeks that now ends with missing Belgium’s first friendly in the international break after failing to recover from the knock he received in the game against Barca.

Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet will play in the friendly against Saudi Arabia while Courtois takes out time to rest and possibly think of signing a new deal at Chelsea, amid interest from Real Madrid.
