Antonio Conte lifts lid on who starts upfront for Chelsea against Crystal Palace

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has given a hint that one of Olivier Giroud or Alvaro Morata will start the Premier League encounter against Crystal Palace.

The Blues have recently been sluggish to start with a recognized striker in their setup, with Eden Hazard playing as a false nine. The Belgium international has clearly been played out of position this season, each time he starts upfront as the main striker, costing Chelsea their attacking impetus they usually possess against opponents in the top flight.

In their last game against Manchester City, Conte stuck Hazard as a false nine again, making it difficult for Chelsea to get into good attacking positions and creating less chances in front of goal.

When quizzed about whether a recognized striker will start the game at Stamford Bridge against Palace this weekend, the former Italy manager admitted he’s yet to make his decision but the important game may require a striker is played.
