Antonio Conte given overwhelming evidence that he must change Barcelona strategy

Chelsea were excellent against Crystal Palace, winning 2-1 but creating numerous attacking opportunities and comfortably outclassing limited opposition.

The return to winning ways with a return to a system with a striker certainly added weight to the argument that the false 9 system doesn’t get the best out of Eden Hazard or the team as a whole.

While Barcelona will present an entirely different proposition in midweek, especially away in the Nou Camp, it’s hard to see Antonio Conte reverting to the false 9 once again.

The Blues need a goal out in Spain, and starting with Olivier Giroud or Alvaro Morata undoubtedly gives them their best chance at that.

Giroud was good against Palace, and should have scored, while Morata almost got sent off in his short cameo at the end.

It will be a tough call between the two for Conte, but given he rested Morata today he will likely play him in midweek, hoping his extra pace will come in handy on the counter.
