Undeserving Chelsea given yet another lifeline by stumbling competition

Chelsea do not deserve any second chances right now.

The Blues have been dreadful in recent games, losing by a three goal margin in their last two games to Watford and Bournemouth.

But the teams around them keep dropping points, and that keeps the hopes of a top four place alive.

Manchester United were the latest team to slip up, losing at St James’ Park to a spirited Newcastle team.

Unfortunately Spurs have done well in their recent tough spell, although that has meant them taking points from United and Arsenal.

With Manchester City having all but secured the title, Antonio Conte’s men are competing with Liverpool, Spurs, United and Arsenal for two spots in the Champions League. Right now they’ve been given another lifeline, undeservedly.

But all of this will be meaningless if the Blues can’t beat West Brom, the team bottom in the league, tomorrow night in what would have seemed like a free 3 points a few weeks ago.
