Some players at Chelsea are unhappy with Antonio Conte, and the recent poor performances are down to this unhappiness, with some pundits claiming that they are deliberately playing badly to get their coach sacked.
Sport Witness carry those claims, made by Brazilian pundut Mauro Cezar Pereira. He says that the problems began with the Diego Costa issue at the end of last season, and got worse with the issues in the wake of David Luiz’s removal from the first team after a reported dressing room bustup with Conte.
Cesar Azpilicueta is apparently the only player on the manager’s side.
The reports claim that only beating Barcelona in the Champions League will save Conte’s job now, and that seems very unlikely, especially if the players are indeed playing below their best level in order to get rid of the manager.
A bad result on Monday night against Watford however, and we could see the boss go even sooner.
