Lionel Messi is preparing himself very well for the Chelsea game, focusing mostly on the physical side, after his teammate Ivan Rakitic revealed the Argentina international is ‘spending a lot of time in the dressing room’.
Messi has never scored against Chelsea in eight attempts, spanning 655 minutes of football. His ambition to get at least one goal at the back of the net, against Chelsea goes on and he wants to make this the final failed attempt.
With a few hours to go in the game on Tuesday night, Rakitic has revealed Messi is working a lot in training, and from what he has observed of the diminutive forward, he is preparing himself to get into top physical condition ahead of the game.
“The truth is that Leo is very focused, working a lot. I don’t know if I have seen him in the gym so much, preparing, taking care of himself.
You can notice in the training sessions, when he’s going 100 percent. You notice a lot.”

Barcelona are yet to lose in the Champions League this season, after the six group games in the first half of the campaign. Their last game at Stamford Bridge resulted in a 1-0 defeat, a first half goal scored by Didier Drogba, that effectively served as a platform for the Blues to find progression to the final of the 2012 campaign.
