Kurt Zouma attracting foreign attention after increasingly impressive season

Nobody was really sure how well Kurt Zouma would recover from the awful knee injury that he suffered against this Sunday’s opponents two seasons ago. His first tentative steps to recovery at the tail end of last season were largely overlooked as they came in the climax of a title win and run to the FA Cup final.

His loan to Stoke in the summer felt like a make or break, especially when the club brought in Antonio Rudiger. Clearly the hierarchy weren’t certain that Zouma would return to the top level.

But his form at the Potteries this season has dispelled those fears, and has foreign tongues wagging about his form.

His mention on SFR’s Premier League show is hardly surprising given he’s a French national and potential World Cup squad member, but even the media in Spain have picked up on his good form.

As they point out however, there are a multitude of central defenders at Chelsea now, and one will likely leave this summer. If it’s Zouma, fans will be gutted – but there’s no question the fee will be an impressive one.
