Chelsea star opens door to Real Madrid for summer transfer negotiations

Chelsea stopper Thibaut Courtois has been on the wish list of Real Madrid but there has been no official bid made yet for his services, although the Belgium international reveals that his agent will ‘listen’ to Real Madrid if they make their interest official for a possible switch.

Coutois’s contract expires in 2019, there hasn’t been further extension talks from Chelsea although he insisted that talks over his new deal looks positive and took opportunity to clarify his earlier comments he made last month saying his “heart was in Madrid”.

“I’m not clear about my future, what I said that my heart is in Madrid was misunderstood. I have two children in Spain, in Madrid, and that’s not easy. I have one year left [here] and I’m happy and talking to Chelsea.

They have bet on me from the first moment and that is not forgotten. I do not think Florentino Perez calls me, he will call my agent and he will listen to him.”

Courtois has been fairly inconsistent in between the sticks this season, contributing his fair share in Chelsea’s recent troubles, although he and his teammates have returned to top form finding wins in their Premier League clash with West Brom and Hull City in the FA Cup.

He conceded the only goal Lionel Messi has scored against the Blues in nine games, and would hope to play a stronger part in Chelsea’s team that boots Barcelona out of the Champions League in three weeks time.
