Chelsea set to snatch £50m star from Man City and Tottenham grasps

Chelsea are set to make a bid for Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha next summer to bolster their attacking options next season.

The Blues have been linked with a number of young attacking talents in world football, particularly Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen.

Palace’s Zaha has become one of the most sought after players in the Premier League after his performances in the top flight, for the past two to three seasons. He has already been subject to two bids from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side made bids to the tune of £25m for his services.

The mirror reports Chelsea may be willing to meet the transfer fee requested by Palace, in order to fend off competition from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Spurs next summer.

Man City’s intent to add to their forward positions was shown in the late hours of the winter transfer window when they made bids for Riyad Mahrez, only to be rebuffed three times by Leicester City.

If Chelsea manage to win the race for Zaha, it will represent a big coup for the Blues hopeful to make a significant impact in next season’s campaign.
