Chelsea were very impressive against Barcelona last night, and they showed that there’s still plenty of life left in this season.
It seemed, on the back of defeats to Bournemouth and Watford, that the season was about to implode, but two wins in a week followed by this impressive showing has suddenly turned things around.
It will still be a tall order to get past Barcelona at the Nou Camp, but the spirit shown by the team shows that they will fight to the end there, and in the FA Cup too.
The league can’t be forgotten either, and while Man City are out of reach at the top, there’s still a desperate fight for a Champions League place that can’t be ignored for a second.
The atmosphere at Stamford Bridge was superb last night, and while the fans’ support for Antonio Conte never wavered, hopefully we have now seen that the support of the players is still there too.
