Chelsea have edge in race for €100m rated Serb thanks to former player

Mateja Kezman’s time at Chelsea is ultimately remembered as a failure given he left after just one year, but it could still have some great bonuses over a decade down the line.

After retiring in 2012, Kezman became an agent, and one of his clients is now one of Europe’s most in demand players – Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The BBC have an article about the midfielder today which claims he’s worth €100m, and that the Roman side turned down €70m for him in the summer. And that was before the Neymar deal inflated fees once again.

Given that Kezman has Chelsea connections – and according to his Wikipedia regards his time at Chelsea as the best of his career, perhaps he will be able to persuade his young client that a move to Stamford Bridge is the way to go.

Hopefully it will work out better for the youngster than it did for Mateja.
