Chelsea 3-0 West Brom – Player Ratings

Chelsea cantered to a win against West Brom in a game that briefly looked like it could be difficult before the Blues finally showed some clinical finishing.

Here are our ratings from today’s featured Chelsea players…

Starting Eleven:

Thibaut Courtois – 6 – A couple of shaky moments and a muffed punch but ultimately not tested much. Made a smart stop from Rondon.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7 – Looked a little shaken up in the first half but made a vital interception at the start of the second to prevent a West Brom equaliser.

Andreas Christensen – 7 – Composed and calm throughout, taken off for a rest after 70 minutes.

Antonio Rudiger- 7 – Defended well as always and looks to have secured a spot ahead of Gary Cahill against Barcelona.

Davide Zappacosta- 6 – Motored up and down the left as he always does but didn’t put much quality into the area.

N’Golo Kante – 7 – Had his work cut out with just Fabregas to help him in the middle, but coped well against West Brom’s midfield.

Cesc Fabregas – 7 – Left the Blues very open defensively but also provided good attacking threat with his passing and awareness in the final third.

Victor Moses  – 6 – Had a poor first half with defensive errors and a lack of quality going forward. His goal was great but didn’t cancel out all his errors.

Pedro – 6 – A willing runner but didn’t do much in the 80 minutes he was on the pitch. Still battling with Willian to get the nod to start against Barcelona.

Olivier Giroud – 7 – A mixed first half with some really great moments mixed with some inferior touches. Set up the first goal, then was really in the wars before being replaced by Morata on the hour mark.

Eden Hazard – 8 – Threatened a couple of times with the ball early but was actually pretty quiet until his superb link up and finish to give the Blues the lead. Added a gorgeous second later on.

Substitutes:

Willian – 6 – Didn’t have time to do much apart from time waste by the corner flags.

Alvaro Morata- 6 – Had some nice linkups after coming on and a shot from range that drew a good save from Foster.

Gary Cahill – 6 – Came on to give Christensen a rest with the game won and didn’t have much to do but pass sideways.
