“If he scores again, everything will be fine” – Chelsea star backs Alvaro Morata to start banging in goals again after recent misses

Antonio Rudiger has backed Alvaro Morata to start scoring soon again after his recent profligacy in front of goal.

The former Juventus striker has been one of Chelsea’s bright spots this season, having scored 12 goals in all competitions this season. Ten of those goals have come in the Premier League giving Chelsea fans hope they may have replaced Diego Costa well.

However, in the last few games, Morata has missed some clear chances, some of them in one on one situations and has looked off color for the Blues.

Following his drawing blank against the Gunners in the Carabao Cup semi final clash on Wednesday, eight days after missing three clear chances against the same team in teh Premier League, fans have began pouring their frustrations on the forward.

His teammate, Antonio Rudiger, who was also signed in the summer transfer window as Morata, insists the players and club still believe the former Real Madrid striker will come good, maintaining the next goal he scores will change his form again for the better.

“As a striker it’s normal that you want to score. Of course there are a times when the head is down a little bit. But all I will say to him is ‘to continue, to work for the team as you always do and the luck will come again’. I’m not worried about him.

I don’t know this (if the home crowd were getting on his back against Arsenal). I just know the whole team is with him and I think all the fans are with him. It’s just a difficult period for him and I hope the best for him. Sometimes there are spells when you score and don’t score, but his effort for the team is good and he always tries. If he scores again, everything will be fine.
