The miserable stats that makes this Premier League star a bizarre Chelsea target

Andy Carroll is actually a target for Chelsea. Desperate times and certainly this is a desperate measure.

The West Ham United striker is one of the forwards Chelsea are after in this month’s transfer window alongside the prolific Red Star Belgrade forward Richmond Boakye Yiadom, Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez and Christian Benteke. But the numbers of all these forwards make Carroll’s chase a very senseless one.

Carroll’s numbers this season pales in comparison with these other strikers, especially the lad who plays in Serbia. Carroll has featured 14 times this season for West Ham United in all competitions, 12 of them coming in the Premier League and two more in the Carabao Cup. Eight of these were starts while six were substitute appearances.

However he has scored a staggering two goals this season. How are Chelsea even interested in him?

Boakye Yiadom has been involved in 26 goals in 28 appearances this season. The Ghana international has scored 23 goals and grabbed three more assists, and 15 of them coming in the Serbian league while eight of those goals came in the Europa League.

Chelsea can definitely not look beyond prolific players as Boakye Yiadom or other stellar names for Carroll.
