Chelsea’s desperate attempts to find a striker sees them turn to €22m rated Serie A star

Chelsea are in desperate need of a striker after failing to get the best out of the current forwards in the team and Antonio Conte’s search takes him back to Serie A with Edin Dzeko in the Blues sights.

The Premier League champions have looked off colour this season. Several games have been drawn that could have so easily been won if chances had been taken by their forwards.

Alvaro Morata has particularly been guilty of missing gilt-edged chances in the period as Chelsea went three games without a win in 2018. Games against Arsenal, Norwich and Leicester City produced stalemates before Michy Batshuayi struck for the Blues against the Canaries in the FA Cup third round replay.

Now Chelsea will look to Dzeko, currently valued at €22m according to Transfermarkt to solve their goal scoring problems. Although the Blues are yet to lodge a formal offer for the former Manchester City striker, Premium Sport report that Chelsea may be on their way to landing a real goal scorer in Dzeko.

Batshuayi is reportedly on his way out of  Stamford Bridge with Sevilla a possible destination for a six month loan move.
